In the past, it took a certain sophistication to be photographed and have your picture appear on page 6, mingling with your fellow intellectual- and wealthy - beings. Years past, and soon a trend started occurring, people who we watched on screen, started showing up in our newspapers, thus the age of the celebrity was formed.
It started with classic favourites like Marilyn Monroe, Bridget Bardot,Twiggy and Edie Sedgwick, and slowly filtered down to current 'celebs'. The celebrity trend spread due to globalisation, soon African and Eastern women were getting their hair cut into a tres chic boys cut made famous by Twiggy and Sedgwick. The age of celebrity grew, and spread faster than Swine Flu, and is notably present in todays modern culture.
Today it seems one no longer has to be a Gossip Girl, or even a mega-movie star to be an iconic It-Girl, today in Britain, the world is your oyster, and seemingly 'normal' girls are making big names for themselves.
The fabulous life of the British It-Girl!
The tres chic and ultra exclusive gang consists of model, muse and fashion icon Agynes Deyn
Music jocky and model Alexa Chung
and the It Girl scene has been invaded by the indescribable beauties, the Delevigne sisters, consisting of high fashion model of the moment Cara and well.. socialite Poppy!!
Cara has kinda been the muse and model for Christopher Bailey, both walking and appearing in the ads for Burberry! She has a striking look, with bold unique eyebrows, and her style is incomparible! She rocks anything, anywhere and never forgets her leather jacket and black boots.. something that I can identify with!! Her has got to WERK and look CHIC everywhere she goes!! Most recently she has walked for the couture collection of Chanel.. which as you know is NO JOKE!!
Poppy on the other hand is more of a socialite and is ofthen seen on the arm of fashion designer Matthew Williamson, and boy does he dress her up!!
Aggy, a world renounced model is hailed as the industries next supermodel, and by the looks of things, she certainly is.
Aggy, born Laura Hollins, was spotted shopping with Henry Holland, and was signed to SELECT Models. Since being signed Aggy has been on numerous fashion magazine covers, such as Vogue, which was a major breakthrough in her career! It wasn't until Aggy scored a major advertising campaign with British fashion brand Burberry, that her career rocketed and made her a household name. In the campaign, Aggy was placed with the next generation of supermodel's, like Lily Donaldson and Coco Sumner. Aggy has reached that super status many models desire, as she has been featured numerous times on famous celeb gossip queen, Perez Hilton's site, and has moved on to become a figure at modern socialistic events, rather than working them!
Aggy met Henry Holland when they were both kids, and have together since. Aggy has posed, walked, and accompanied Holland, as it appears she is his Edie Sedgwick, and she continues to inspire him.
Aggy and her and her close friends has recently started an online magazine, called NAAG. NAAG incorporates fashion, music and pop culture into an inspiring digital experience.

Alexa Chung is still relatively unknown, but to those who know her, know that she is the latest muse for contemporary designers, and because of her trendy and quirky sense of style has generated serious buzz in the fashion industry, so much so that fashion house Mulbery has named a bag after her, cleverly named the Alexa.
Chung was scouted by a modeling agency, after completing her A-Levels, with two A's in English and Art. Chung went on to appear on the cover of various magazines like Elle and Harpers Bazaar, and was hired to work the runway for contemporary English designer, Vivienne Westwood.
Alexa has recently graced the covers of many fashion magazines, further spreading her celebrity status around the world. Chung has become so well known, that once her MTV show It's On With Alexa Chung, ended, she was offered the position to replace MTV's Zane Louw on the musical rock show which interviews and features some of the world's best underground bands, Gonzo.
What is really admirable about these woman, is that even though they are models, and are expected to be blank canvases for their designers, they each posses their own certain, and individual style, which really adds the je ne sais quoi to a world, which seems so two dimensional at times.
Therefore we at Delusions of Grandeur salute them for their fashion risks, musical tastes and their rockstar attitude which basically reads, "I don't give a fuck!"
